Creating beautiful spaces has always been important to me. I knew I wanted to make Sophie’s nursery feel special. I decided on vintage inspired woodland nursery decor with lots of flowers and lots of mushrooms. I scoured FB marketplace throughout my pregnancy and found a few gems that really add so much warmth and character to the room. Her room feels so unique!
Sophie’s nursery was truly a combined effort by so many people. Most of the accessories were decorations from my baby showers that my mom gathered over a few months, like the wooden mushrooms, velvet deer, and adorable fairy dolls. The key to woodland nursery decor is in the details. I didn’t want it to scream “forest,” but wanted it to feel calm, classic, and whimsical.

I found both of the shelves for free on Facebook marketplace one night. It was late and I was afraid that someone would snatch them up. They were in a city about half an hour away, but my sister lived there, so I called her up and asked if she could go get them! The seller ended up living just around the corner from her, so she and her husband went and picked up my dream shelves! Forever thankful to them for being so willing to help so late at night!

We love her rug so much. It is so soft and fluffy. The pattern is adorable! It’s Rifle Paper x Wayfair so I wouldn’t expect anything less! It goes on sale pretty frequently so I was able to get a good deal.
We also got her glider from Wayfair. It is cute and affordable, but it is not the easiest thing in the world to recline. It gets a little stuck sometime which is a little annoying. But now we hardly ever recline in it, we mostly sit in it when we’re reading together before bed.

My dad and my husband fixed up this beautiful antique dresser. When I saw it I knew I had to have it. The detail is so beautiful. It really adds to the woodland nursery decor theme! I got this one for just around $100 on Marketplace. We actually went straight from buying our SUV to picking this up because I just couldn’t wait another second until I had it! It’s HEAVY, but great quality. Sadly I don’t know where it is from originally.

I knew that I didn’t want a separate changing table that I would eventually stop using. I really wanted her furniture to grow with her, so I opted to put a changing pad on top of the dresser. It’s not perfect, but it works!
My sister crocheted the darling granny square banner. Sophie loved to look up at it when she was little! And of course the little wicker mushroom basket is the perfect woodland nursery decor touch.

Sophie’s nursery is so special because it is a physical representation of so many people who love her. I feel so lucky to have family members who went to such great lengths to make it happen! And now we have a new favorite room in the house 💗
